Privacy & Solidarity

Solidarity Network
The Common Cause Helpline is a solidarity support network operated by private individuals in their free time on a voluntary basis. We are not a professional counseling center, but a community helping each other. Protecting your data is part of this solidarity for us.
Anonymity & Information Choice
We enable total anonymity. It is your choice whether you provide us with your real name or a pseudonym. We recommend using a VPN and a non-connectable email/phone number to open a line of communication without us knowing who you are. The form exists solely to understand your needs and provide a point of contact for help.
Purpose Limitation & Strict Confidentiality
Your data is used exclusively for the purpose of providing help. We follow a 'need-to-know' principle: within our team, access is granted only to the persons actively handling your request. There is no broad internal dissemination of your information.
Absolute Confidentiality
Everything you entrust to us remains strictly confidential. We never pass information to third parties. Communication takes place in a protected environment to ensure your safety and integrity at all times.
Precise Data Collection & Legal Basis
In the support form, we collect the following data based on your consent (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR):
• Name (Pseudonym possible): Required to address you properly.
• Contact Method (Email/Phone): Required to be able to respond to you.
• Support Wishes: Optional, helps us in preparation.
• Message: Optional, allows you to describe your situation.
You do not have to provide data marked as optional if you do not wish to do so.
Security Risks & Recommendation
Submitting any data online is a security risk. No matter how robust the security measures, there is always a potential for breach. To ensure absolute private data safety, we strongly recommend using non-recognizable personal information. The helpline should be used in a way that remains non-attributable to your person.
Deletion of Your Data
You can request the deletion of your data at any time. Simply write to us at helpline@commoncause.cc. We will then immediately delete your information from our internal channels.
Disclaimer & Voluntariness
The use of the helpline and the provision of your data are absolutely voluntary. Since this is a purely private, solidarity initiative provided by individuals in their free time, we assume no liability for the content of the support, advice, or resulting consequences. There is no legal intent to be bound. By submitting the form, you explicitly waive any liability claims against the individuals involved and the association.
